Penn State St. Patrick’s Day Luck

Penn State St Patricks Day Penn State St. Patricks Day LuckWe could all use some luck in 2010, and that includes Penn State fans.  No matter if you are talking about Penn State football or Penn State basketball, as the old saying goes, "I'd rather be lucky than good".  When it comes to PSU hoops, there's been very little in the way or "good" or "luck" this year.

Frankly, after watching yet another close loss today to a good team, when it comes to 2010 men's hoops, I'm glad its over.

Yes, I know we have the Big 10 tournament left.  I'll watch and I'll cheer on the boys.  I actually won't be surprised if they beat Ohio State or Purdue (I haven't even checked to see who we will play).  We just lost squeakers to both.  But if its all the same with my blogging buddies, I'm ready to call it a season.  Luck hasn't been with us this year.

The close losses are the ones that are a killer.  The Michigan State loss by a bucket hurt.  The loss to the non green Michigan at home.  The Minnesota loss, the Wisconsin loss, the Indiana loss, they go on and on this year.  So many games wear PSU was in it, I was in it, and you could see the same story unfold everytime.  Luck wasn't with us.

You figure in a long season you win some of thos close games and you lose some.  We lost more than our normal share.  It was not a fun Penn State basketball season.

So are PSU sports fans lucky in other ways?  You bet.  Use your Rivals or Scout account (or get one) and check out our football recruiting class.  Its a good one and the future is bright.  Penn State spring football is right around the corner and before you know it the spring game will be here.  There a sports 'dead zone' after that, but luck we turn our way come fall.

So this St. Patrick's Day I'll be celebrating for Penn State sports.  We are lucky in many ways.

Fire the loser DUHchellis. We’re sick of failure and ineptitude. It’s time to end this crappy regime and bring in a new coach.

3-16 in the B-10 is unaccepatable.

Losing to horrible teams like UNC WIlimington and TuLame is unacceptable.

Losing by 20 to a bad Minnesota team in the B-10 tournament is unacceptable.

The lack of development among veteran players like Jones, Borrks, and Jackson is unacceptable.

The failure to develop supposedly top recruits like Edwards and Frazier is unacceptable.

20 losses after 7 years is unacceptable.

    ED DUHCHELLIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

After 7 years on the job and no NCAA appearances, I think you are right. Unfortunately he has a sizeable buyout and I don’t think the adminstration feels that can lure anyone better to the job. Unfortunatley, we have only one new player joining the team next year. And that is Battle’s half brother, while he is a pretty highly rated recruit, true freshman rarely make a significant impact at Penn State. I think this adminstration gives him one more year, he goes over .500 in the Big Ten he is here to stay, the team plays like they did this year and he is a goner. But regardless, we have one more year of DeChellis at the helm.
