If you love Penn State sports like we do, you are fortunate in that there are lots of resources on the web to feed your habit. In this information age, you can ingest PSU football and basketball virtually 24/7 with all the sites, blogs, forums, and news outlets. We take it for granted often these days, but its WAY more accessible than even 10 years ago when schmucks like us were following JoPa's crew every move, mostly in newspapers, magazines and call in shows.
However with uber info comes lots of excess, and the sites we like most are ones like ours: the personal, usually smaller websites and blogs that follow Penn State sports and aren't short on opinion and analysis. One that we read that you should check out is the22000.com.
As the name implies, the blog's author has special interest in Penn State basketball and specifically getting all of you into Bryce Jordan center. Hey its not hard blogging on Penn State football, you've got a constantly captured audience, plenty of news and compelling topics to cover, and mostly importantly winning. Maybe more importantly, its easy to blog on PSU football because every loss creates even more reason for Nittany fans to get online to their favorite sites to wallow, complain, or commiserate with others about how such a defeat could happen.
Blogging about Penn State basketball lacks many of these advantages, believe us we know. And when you are in the midst of a winless conference season its REALLY hard to stay motivated to pump out words that PSU hoops fans will flock too. So give the22000.com credit, he's blogging away, even in the midst of this misery of a season, and if you read his latest post on tomorrows game vs Michigan St, you'll even find some reason to hope that Saturday's game will turn fortunes around.
For those of you that are a reader of his blog, note that he also just did a face-lift. Check it out when you get a chance.
Penn State Has a Winter Olympics Expert
As we speak my wife is hunkering down the house for a grand night of fondu and Olympics opening ceremony watching. I've had a hard time getting up for it, frankly the parade of endless nations bores me to tears, and the only consolation I could think of is that there is only 80 countries in the Winter games vs 200 in the summer.
Penn State Tickets | Penn State Jerseys | Penn State "White Out" Apparel
Penn State Sweatshirts | Penn State T-Shirts | Penn State Golf Shirts
However after a little googling to get up to speed before family Olympic night, I found one of the best sources to be from Penn State itself. Mark Dyreson, a professor at Penn State, is apparently an expert on the games and has a pretty interesting interview on this year's version. I thought "Californication" was a Red Hot Chili Peppers thing.
