I wish the rest of the Big Ten would step up and represent the conference during bowl season; living here in the south, in the middle SEC and ACC country, I am sick and tired of getting so much grief about the Big Ten's lack of conference success; we have not had a wining bowl record since 2002. But if you look at Penn State's record we are 17 - 7 since 1980 and 7-2 against the mighty SEC.
Here is our SEC record details
1980 Sugar Bowl: PSU 27 UGA 23
1991 Fiesta Bowl: PSU 42 Tenn 17
1993 Citrus Bowl: PSU 31 Tenn 13
1995 Outback Bowl: PSU 43 Auburn 13
1997 Citrus Bowl: Florida 21 PSU 6 (sure wish Curis Enis would not of taken a suit from an agent during December, making him ineligible and we could of punched in a TD when we had 1st and goal at the 2 yard line).
1998 Outback Bowl: PSU 28 Kentucky 14
2002 Capital One Bowl: Auburn 13 Penn State 9
2006 Outback Bowl: PSU 20 Tenn 10
2009 Capital One Bowl: PSU 19 LSU 17
So far this year, the Big Ten has a 3-2 record (wins by Penn State, Ohio State and Wisconisn; loses by Minnesota and Northwestern). They have two game left 1) Alamo Bowl (Jan. 2) Michigan State vs. Texas Tech and 2) Orange Bowl (Jan. 5) Iowa vs. Georgia Tech. Come on Big Ten step up and represent.

Regarding the 1997 game. Also Jurivicious (goodness spelling?) was not playing because of grades or team rules suspension, he was the remainder of Penn State’s (Hail State) offense that year.
